Welcome to Kendal Whisky Festival

This festival was born from a lifelong love of whisky and years of discussing (usually over a few drams…) how good a whisky festival would be.

Roll on 2021, and we – Dave Pennington owner of Pennington’s Tea & Coffee and Phil Walker, owner and landlord of The New Union Pub in Kendal – decided to go for it!

Both of us are passionate, obsessive, curious and excitable whisky lovers who enjoy nothing better than sampling a classic single malt or innovative new creation from around the world, and you’ll find this in abundance at the festival.

Kendal Whisky Festival is now in it’s 4th year and has become a sell-out success, as well as being noted as one of the best independent festivals in the country.

About the festival

Kendal Whisky Festival is held on the first weekend of December in the historic Assembly Room at Kendal Town Hall (Highgate, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 4DL).

In order to accommodate all you whisky lovers and to make sure you’re drinking responsibly, it is split into three sessions:

Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening*.

Within the festival there are normally 25-30 distillers and bottlers with more than triple that in brands, exhibited. During your session you can meet and chat with each distiller and brand and discover their latest creations and old favourites.

*Please note you can only book on to one session on the Saturday. Your ticket may be cancelled if you book more than one Saturday session.

Your festival ticket

Each session runs for 4 hours and is charged at £40.00.

Tickets to Kendal Whisky Festival gives you access to one session, your festival glass and official programme. Once inside the venue you do not need to pay for anything else unless you use the shop.

Distillers and exhibitors will offer sample drams as you like and are given in 10ml industry standard sizes.

We kindly ask that all our visitors read the festival Terms and Conditions, are respectful to exhibitors and other guest and enjoy the festival.
